About the Role

The Company is in search of a Vice President, Clinical Development to spearhead the clinical progression of its rare renal disease portfolio. This pivotal role demands a hands-on executive with a medical background, specifically an MD or equivalent, and a focus on nephrology, internal medicine, or a related specialty. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end clinical development strategy, from defining Phase I-III development plans to designing and overseeing all clinical trials. Key tasks include serving as the medical and scientific lead for ongoing studies, leading clinical interactions with regulatory agencies, and ensuring the integration of clinical endpoints with biomarker strategy and mechanism of action. The VP will also be instrumental in shaping program strategy, regulatory positioning, and external partnerships, while building and scaling the clinical organization.

Applicants must have a minimum of 10 years' experience in biotech or pharmaceutical clinical development, with a proven track record in leading early- and mid-stage clinical programs. A deep understanding of rare disease development, biomarker-driven trials, and regulatory strategy is essential, as is prior experience in advancing a program from first-in-human to proof-of-concept or later stages. Experience in rare renal or immune-mediated kidney diseases is strongly preferred. The role requires a leader who can partner closely with cross-functional teams, manage CROs, and global trials, and is adept at working in lean, VC-backed or portfolio-company environments. The VP will also be responsible for building, leading, and scaling the clinical development organization and operating model.
