About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director for its Habitat Conservation program. The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration of the habitat conservancy, overseeing the implementation of plans, policies, and procedures in line with state and federal laws. This role involves developing and managing the organizational budget, ensuring compliance with funding requirements, and supervising staff and consultants. The Executive Director will also be the primary point of contact for the Board, with the authority to enter into contracts and authorize payments. A key aspect of the position is to provide leadership, demonstrate political sensitivity, and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders.
Applicants for the Executive Director position should have a background in land acquisitions for conservation, landscape-scale land conservation, habitat management, and restoration, as well as experience with regulatory permitting. The role requires a candidate with strong analytical, communication, customer service, and organizational skills, who can work effectively in a fast-paced team environment. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in these areas and be able to demonstrate the ability to make independent and judicious decisions in the execution of their duties.
