About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Cloud Engineering to lead and drive innovation in the development of scalable, mission-critical cloud solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and enforcing technical strategies, overseeing the modernization of legacy systems, and ensuring the team is equipped with the latest cloud engineering practices. This role involves close collaboration with executive leadership, fostering a high-performance engineering culture, and mentoring a team of engineers to promote a DevOps mindset and continuous improvement. The VP will also be tasked with ensuring compliance with industry standards, integrating security and audit readiness, and driving cost optimization within a substantial cloud environment.
Applicants must have a Bachelor of Science in a relevant field, with at least 10 years of engineering experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role within Infra/Platform/DevOps/SRE teams. Expertise in AWS operations, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD automation is essential, as is a proven track record in managing high-volume, 24x7 production systems. The role requires strong incident management and observability skills, with a focus on proactive reliability, and the ability to work in regulated domains. Preferred qualifications include experience in payments/fintech, sharding/partitioning, and Go/Ruby programming. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to mentor teams, drive a high-ownership engineering culture, and possess excellent communication and leadership skills, with the capability to work remotely.
