About the Role
The Company is seeking a Head of Accounting with a clear path to a CFO role. This high-impact, fully remote position is pivotal in the organization's growth and requires a candidate who can bring both hands-on and strategic financial leadership. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the full cycle of accounts receivable and payable, preparing and presenting financial statements, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Additionally, the role involves leading and developing the accounting team, driving process improvements, and leading system implementations.
Applicants for the Head of Accounting role at the company should have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent experience, with a preference for a CPA. A minimum of 5 years' progressive accounting experience, including people management, is required, with a strong preference for those with a background in the life insurance and/or financial services industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of both accrual and cash accounting methodologies, experience in AP, AR, payroll, and financial reporting, and a proven track record of leading through change with an adaptable, forward-thinking mindset. The role demands a highly detail-oriented individual with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, who is a confident communicator and a hands-on, service-oriented leader.
