About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director for Development to serve as the chief development officer for its School of Business. The successful candidate will be a key member of the University Advancement team, leading strategies to secure major, principal, and transformational philanthropic support for the School's top priorities. This includes initiatives such as scholarships, faculty excellence, and facilities. The role involves close collaboration with the Dean of the School of Business, managing a team responsible for major and principal gifts, and working on campaign planning, donor strategy, and volunteer engagement. The Executive Director will also ensure that development efforts align with the School's alumni and corporate relations strategy, fostering lifelong connections and philanthropic participation.
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years' of progressive fundraising experience, with a proven track record in securing major and principal gifts. Strong interpersonal, communication, and strategic skills are essential, as is the ability to manage professional staff and complex prospect pipelines. The role requires a candidate with a background in project management, analytical skills, and experience in budget management. While not mandatory, experience in business-school or professional-school advancement, campaign management, and working with corporate and foundation donors is preferred. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the mission and market positioning of the School of Business and be willing to travel frequently and work a flexible schedule.
