About the Role
The Company is seeking a Fintech Counsel to join its Corporate Legal Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all legal affairs related to the company's partnerships with financial technology firms. This includes contract negotiation, review of regulatory matters, and assistance in legal research to define and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. The role also involves supporting the pre-contracting process, developing and updating contract templates, and maintaining strategic relationships with various internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor degree, be licensed to practice law, and have a minimum of 3 years' of experience in a corporate legal department or law firm with a focus on payments, contract negotiation, and/or banking and fintech partnerships.
Applicants for the Fintech Counsel position at the company should possess a strong background in regulatory compliance, particularly in the areas of card issuing, money movement, and merchant acquiring. A deep understanding of the payments ecosystem and industry frameworks such as NACHA and The Clearinghouse is essential.
