About the Role
The Company is seeking a President/Executive Director to lead its national nonprofit organization, which is dedicated to honoring and supporting military veterans. The successful candidate will be a mission-driven, externally focused, and highly capable executive responsible for setting and executing the strategic direction of the organization. This role involves serving as the primary ambassador, fundraiser, and operational leader, with a strong emphasis on growing current offerings and developing key partnerships to expand programming in direct support of the veteran community. The ideal candidate will have a deep passion for serving veterans, visionary leadership, and a proven track record in fundraising, major sponsorship recruitment, and event-based operations. Military service experience is preferred, and the candidate should be adept at fostering a culture of excellence, strong governance, and a high-performing team.
Key responsibilities for the President/Executive Director include leadership, organization and financial management, human resource management, event management, development, and operations, as well as community and public relations. The role requires a visible, authentic leader with the ability to inspire donors, sponsors, volunteers, staff, and partners around a shared mission. The candidate should be adept at exercising diplomacy, representing the organization effectively, and maintaining strong working relationships. Educational qualifications include a preferred bachelor's degree in business management, with substantial nonprofit leadership experience considered in lieu of a degree. The role demands a candidate with the ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and be flexible in the face of changing circumstances.
