About the Role
The Company is seeking a Managing Director for Tax within its Alternative Investments practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing tax compliance and consulting services to a diverse range of clients, including those in the venture capital, private equity, hedge fund, and real estate sectors. This role involves ensuring that clients meet all relevant tax obligations while minimizing their tax and reporting burdens. The Managing Director will lead a team of tax professionals, manage complex engagements, and build and maintain client relationships. Additionally, the role includes identifying and implementing effective tax strategies and supervising a team of senior managers, managers, tax seniors, and associates.
Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or statistics, with a Master's degree in accounting or taxation preferred. A minimum of 10 years' of relevant tax experience is required, with a preference for those with a background in the financial services industry and proficiency in the taxation of partnerships. A CPA, licensed attorney, or IRS enrolled agent certification is mandatory, with additional certifications such as CFP or a Master's in tax being advantageous. The role demands superior communication, analytical, and decision-making skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team and manage a team of tax professionals. The Managing Director will also be expected to have executive presence and the capacity to act as the primary client contact for tax-related issues.
