About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chairperson for its School of Humanities. The successful candidate will serve as the chief administrative officer, responsible for the academic program, student success, recruitment, budgeting, and fostering relationships with educational partners, industry, the community, and alumni. This role involves leading accreditation efforts, promoting excellence in teaching and learning, and ensuring the alignment of the unit's strategies with the overall university mission. The Chairperson will also be involved in the development and facilitation of undergraduate and graduate programming, as well as presiding over faculty meetings and participating in the development of academic policies.
Applicants for the Chairperson position should have a Ph.D. or terminal degree in a relevant field, with a preference for a faculty rank of Associate Professor. A minimum of 2 years' leadership experience at the unit, college, or university level is required. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the arts and humanities, comprehensive knowledge of accreditation standards, and the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders. Essential skills include excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational abilities, as well as proficiency in computer applications. The role also involves supervising all faculty, staff, and administrative assistants within the School.
