About the Role
The Company is seeking an Assistant Vice President for Advancement to provide strategic leadership in the planning, execution, and evaluation of a comprehensive fundraising program. The successful candidate will be responsible for fostering meaningful relationships with alumni, donors, corporations, and foundations to strengthen philanthropic support. This role involves overseeing an existing portfolio of donors, identifying and engaging new prospects, and working collaboratively with academic leadership to align fundraising priorities with donor interests. The AVP will also be involved in crafting and implementing targeted messaging to advance the company's brand and impact, as well as providing staff supervision and contributing to leadership in the Office of Institutional Advancement/Alumni Affairs.
Applicants must have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with a master's degree preferred, and at least 5 years' experience in designing, implementing, and assessing successful fundraising campaigns, particularly in a higher education setting. A minimum of 3 years' experience in providing leadership and supervision as part of an institutional advancement team is also required. The role demands a candidate with a proven track record in donor stewardship, event management, and the ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders. The AVP will be expected to utilize donor management software to track giving and evaluate campaign effectiveness, and to be adept at telling the company's story and highlighting alumni achievements to enhance visibility and reputation.
