About the Role
The Company is seeking a Head of People Operations to join their team. This pivotal role is focused on designing and shaping the HR and People function to support the company's rapid growth and transformative mission. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and managing the HR and People function, with a strong emphasis on compliance, risk, and policy across multiple states. This includes owning multi-state compliance, designing clear and enforceable policies, and building manager-ready toolkits to ensure fair and consistent practices. The role also involves standardizing the full employee lifecycle, leading the selection of a new People stack, and managing the transition off the PEO. Additionally, the Head of People Operations will be instrumental in fostering a positive, high-performing company culture, driving retention, and ensuring a scalable employee experience.
Applicants for the Head of People Operations role at the company should have a minimum of 7 years' of experience in HR, preferably within fast-growing startups, with a proven track record in managing diverse workforces and ensuring compliance with state-specific regulations, particularly those of California. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing and executing retention and culture-building initiatives, as well as overseeing HR functions such as onboarding, offboarding, payroll, and compliance. A deep understanding of the unique challenges and needs of a blue-collar workforce is essential. The role requires a self-starter with strong communication and leadership skills, capable of collaborating with the executive team to build a scalable, compliance-driven HR infrastructure. A Bachelor's degree in HR, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
