We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Board-Certified Gastroenterologist to lead and shape a brand-new academic Gastroenterology division as the Chief of GI at a prominent, system-affiliated healthcare institution in southern New Jersey .

Position Overview:

As Chief of Gastroenterology , you will:

  • Build and lead a new GI division focused on clinical excellence, innovation, and academic advancement

  • Recruit and mentor physicians, fellows, and clinical staff

  • Work in a dual inpatient and outpatient setting with access to advanced GI tools and support

  • Shape medical education through collaboration with a new medical school

  • Oversee complex GI care and expand procedural services , including advanced endoscopy

  • Collaborate with system leadership to grow the GI service line across multiple counties

  • Set the tone for quality, culture, and clinical standards across the GI program

Candidate Requirements:
  • MD or DO with Board Certification in Gastroenterology Required

  • Active New Jersey medical license or ability to obtain before start

  • Current BLS, ACLS, DEA, and CSR/CDS certifications (or willing to obtain)

  • Minimum 5 years of clinical experience

  • Prior leadership or program-building experience preferred

  • Willing to comply with COVID and Flu vaccination requirements

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Base Salary: $521,850 $823,584

  • Annual Bonus Potential tied to leadership and clinical performance

  • $3,000+ in CME allowance and paid CME days
