The role includes receiving shipments, maintaining accurate data‑entry records, and ensuring all furniture is received in good condition. The Warehouse Clerk assists with quality control and inspection, warehouse organization, and other customer‑service and administrative tasks while adhering to safety and operational guidelines. This role requires a team‑player attitude with experience in a fast‑paced warehouse environment, the ability to multitask while staying focused and productive; customer‑service orientated, fine attention to detail, and experience using spreadsheets or inventory management software. Primary Responsibilities: Follow safety guidelines for lifting, moving and handling items and packages. Maintain accurate inventory records by means of data entry and paperwork scanning in the inventory management system. Perform paper filing, copying, and scanning of POD/BOL paperwork. Assist to receive, unload, and label incoming shipments to ensure accuracy. Process and inspect incoming items for damages, defects, or missing parts. Process and inspect write‑ups, including investigation as necessary, to identify items received without paperwork via carriers such as FedEx, UPS, Amazon, USPS, DHL, RH, etc. For damaged items, obtain appropriate photos to assist clients in initiating the claims process, notifying them in a timely manner via e‑mail and phone. Communicate via e‑mail and/or phone with clients, freight/shipping companies, and vendors to report received items, updated warehouse locations, damaged items, missing items, order received statuses, and to address inquiries. Assist with tracking received and outgoing shipments, update incoming/outgoing inventory, and ensure accurate documentation. Assist with returns and damaged product processing, documenting defects or shipping issues. Assist in making phone calls to retrieve more information from clients, freight companies, or vendors/manufacturers (e.g., to identify sender/designer, sidemark, item description, etc.). In collaboration with the warehouse team, assist in addressing client‑customer‑service related concerns or complaints about warehouse operations through proactive problem‑solving. Escalate only when unresolved after standard steps. In collaboration with the warehouse team, assist in resolving inventory and receiving discrepancies by identifying solutions and coordinating with clients, freight/shipping companies, and/or vendors as necessary. Assist in coordinating and scheduling warehouse pickup and delivery requests with designers/clients and collaborate with the appropriate warehouse team member to have items pulled and staged. Assist in handling new client inquiries. Job responsibilities may change periodically based on the needs of the business. Secondary Responsibilities: Actively participate in a collaborative team environment or "all‑hands" moving approach, always willing to cross‑train across departments. Ensure cleanliness and organization in the warehouse and grounds (keep work areas clean, organized, aisles clear of debris, pick up trash on floors/aisles as encountered; sweeping; vacuuming; cleaning bathrooms and breakroom; pick up trash in outdoor truck bay, parking lot and grounds as needed). Assist in evaluating warehouse supply order needs in collaboration with the Warehouse Logistics Coordinator (manager review/approval required before placing or submitting an order). Assist in stocking, pulling and/or staging outgoing delivery orders/pickups as needed while operating forklift/order pickers/powered industrial trucks (PIT) along with other MHE. Assist in conducting periodic inventory audits to ensure inventory accuracy. Assist with special projects as they arise. Job responsibilities may change periodically based on the needs of the business. Skill Requirements: High attention to detail to ensure accurate inventory tracking, data entry, and quality control. 1+ years in a warehouse or logistics role. Experience with inventory spreadsheets such as Apple Numbers or Microsoft Excel; or other inventory management system. Understanding of proper lifting techniques and warehouse safety regulations. Excellent communication skills with ability to work well in a team‑focused workplace. High School Diploma. Highly proficient in using technology/computers and typing (experience with Apple MAC‑OS a plus). Ability to work with limited supervision. Reliable with good work ethic. Excellent time management skills. Strong organizational skills with ability to multitask. Excellent customer service skills. Must be a U.S. citizen. Must be able to speak English. Forklift Certification is a plus but not required. Minimum Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time for the majority of the work shift. Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, pull or maneuver items weighing 100+ lbs, with or without MHE or with team lift when appropriate and deemed unsafe to perform solo. Frequent bending, squatting, stooping & kneeling required for receiving and identifying pieces, handling inventory, scanning packages (when applicable), or organizing stock. Frequent use of fingers, hands and arms for typing, writing, use of mouse, handling packages, scanning labels (when applicable), and using online inventory management systems. Ability to tolerate warehouse environment without central AC/heat with exposure to varying temperatures including extreme heat or cold, or very dry or humid conditions. Ability to tolerate warehouse environment with common hazards such as travel of forklift, order picker, or other MHE and the movement of people and furniture items of all sizes on a frequent basis with moderate to high noise levels. Pay: $17–$19 per hour (depending on experience), paid weekly. Job Type: Full‑time (30+ hours per week). Schedule: Normal hours of operation are Monday–Friday, 8:30 am–4:30 pm, off Saturdays and Sundays; we are closed on major holidays including New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
