Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This opportunity is for a full-time Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing serving elementary students in a school district within the Virginia Beach area. The contract position runs from January 5, 2026 through June 16, 2026, supporting a small caseload of eight students in grades K-5, all located at the district center. Key Responsibilities: Deliver specialized instruction tailored to children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Assess student needs and develop individualized educational plans. Collaborate with staff and families to ensure effective communication and support. Maintain progress records and participate in meetings regarding student development. Qualifications: Active Virginia Department of Education teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing (provisional accepted). Experience working with elementary-aged students (K-5) who have hearing impairments. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to manage a caseload of eight students within one district facility. Work Details: Full-time schedule, approximately 35 hours per week. One school assignment located in the Virginia Beach area. Contract duration covers the second semester of the school year (CSY).
