Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Special Education Teacher position is available for the 2026 spring semester, serving students from kindergarten through 12th grade across self-contained, resource, and special day classrooms. This contract role is based in Topeka, KS, and supports a diverse range of student needs in grades K-12. Qualifications and Experience: Active State Teaching License in Special Education required Experience working with students in grades K-5, 6-8, or 9-12 preferred Proven ability to manage caseloads effectively within self-contained and resource settings Role Details: Contract period: January 2026 to June 2026 Weekly hours: 30 to 37.5, Monday through Friday Caseload includes students with varied needs across multiple grade levels Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students needs Collaborate with school staff and families to support student progress and development Deliver specialized instruction within self-contained, resource, and special day classroom settings Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly Benefits and Compensation: Competitive pay starting at $36+ per hour Weekly pay cycles for convenience Comprehensive insurance package including medical, dental, vision, and life coverage Matching 401(k) retirement plan Flexible spending accounts available This position offers the opportunity to contribute to student success in a supportive and resource-rich environment.
