Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This Special Education Teacher position focuses on supporting students across various grade levels, including K-5 and 9-12, in an educational setting. The role is based in Bloomington, IL, and operates on a contract basis. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students unique learning needs. Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to create an inclusive classroom environment. Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed. Reinforce positive behavior and support social skills development. Facilitate accommodations and modifications to curriculum materials. Desired Qualifications and Skills: Certification or licensure in Special Education. Experience teaching students in grades K-5 and/or 9-12. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working collaboratively with diverse teams. Ability to create engaging, accessible instructional materials. Knowledge of special education laws and best practices.
