Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An experienced Occupational Therapist (OT) is needed to provide specialized support within a K-12 school setting in Albemarle, NC. This position is contract-based for the current school year with the potential for renewal and offers a part-time, flexible schedule tailored to candidate availability. The role is designed for an OT with a strong background in school-based practice who can support evaluations and supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs), without carrying an independent caseload. Key Responsibilities: Conduct occupational therapy evaluations to assess student needs. Support IEP development and related occupational therapy services. Provide supervision and guidance to COTAs in the school environment. Collaborate with school staff to ensure effective therapy provision. Maintain compliance with all relevant educational and therapeutic regulations. Qualifications and Experience: Active state Occupational Therapist license is required. Prior experience working as a school-based OT is mandatory. Demonstrated ability to perform evaluations and supervise COTA staff. Strong knowledge of K-12 educational requirements and IEP processes. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently with flexible scheduling. Reliable transportation to various school sites within the district.
