Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A registered nurse (RN) is needed to provide specialized nursing support in an elementary school setting located in Irmo, SC. This contract position will begin as soon as possible and continue through May 22, 2026, working approximately 40 hours per week. The primary focus will be supporting a classroom of exceptional children, with a daily schedule from roughly 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The RN will concentrate specifically on the care of two students requiring skilled medical attention while also being available to assist other students in the classroom as needed. The classroom environment includes two aides and a teacher to provide additional support. Key responsibilities include: Providing G-tube and tracheostomy (Trach) care for one student Assisting with suctioning and tube feeding twice daily via pump for a second student Collaborating with classroom staff to ensure overall student well-being Maintaining accurate documentation of nursing care and student responses Responding promptly to medical needs while fostering a safe and supportive learning environment Desired qualifications: Valid and current RN license Experience with pediatric nursing and specialized medical procedures such as G-tube care, tracheostomy management, and suctioning Ability to work compassionately with children requiring complex care Strong communication and teamwork skills in a multidisciplinary educational setting This is an excellent opportunity for an RN interested in combining professional nursing skills with a school environment to support exceptional learners.
