Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This position offers an opportunity to provide specialized educational support to K-12 students in a school setting located in Auburn, ME. The focus is on delivering tailored instruction and interventions to students with special needs across elementary, middle, and high school levels. The contract position begins as soon as possible and extends through the end of the school year, with part-time hours spread across 30 days weekly. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special education needs Collaborate with general education teachers and staff to support inclusive learning environments Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly Maintain records and prepare reports related to student performance and compliance with regulations Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and school personnel regarding student development and needs Qualifications: Active Special Education Teaching License valid in the state of Maine Experience working with K-12 students in special education settings Strong understanding of instructional strategies for diverse learning abilities Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to work effectively in a collaborative educational environment Position Details: Location: Auburn, ME Contract duration: Start immediately through the end of the school year Hours: Part-time, approximately 5 hours per week over 30 days Age Group: Kindergarten through 12th grade students Benefits: Competitive compensation starting at $35+ per hour Weekly pay schedule Comprehensive insurance package, including medical, dental, vision, and life coverage Matching 401(k) retirement plan Flexible spending account options Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply promptly to support students with special education needs in this rewarding contract opportunity.
