A specialty pharmacy is seeking experienced pharmacists with a strong background in managing rare and orphan drug therapies. This contract opportunity offers the chance to work closely with patients and healthcare providers to navigate the complexities of specialty drug approval and access. Responsibilities: Dispense and manage medications for patients with rare diseases, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Provide high-touch communication between patients and providers to support medication adherence and education. Assist patients in navigating insurance approvals, payment assistance programs, grants, and rebates related to specialty medications. Utilize McKesson Enterprise (ERx) systems for specialty pharmacy operations. Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Active pharmacy license in Arizona, clear and in good standing. Demonstrated experience in a designated specialty pharmacy setting; pure retail pharmacy experience is not sufficient. Experience working with specialty retail and/or specialty mail order pharmacy environments preferred. Strong clinical knowledge and communication skills, particularly related to rare/orphan drugs. Ability to manage complex medication logistics and patient support programs. Location: Staten Island, NY, with the client site located in the Bronx, NY. Job Type: Contract, approximately 13 weeks with the potential for contract-to-hire or direct hire. Schedule: Monday through Friday, daytime shifts.
