This position is for a Special Education Teacher specializing in social communications, serving an elementary school caseload through a contract for the current school year. Located in Albuquerque, NM, this role offers the opportunity to work within a supportive and highly regarded school district. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs. Provide specialized instruction focused on social communication skills. Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure students' academic and social progress. Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as necessary. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes the development of each student's potential. Qualifications: Valid Special Education teaching certification. Experience with elementary-level special education students. Strong knowledge of social communication strategies and interventions. Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
