Bachelor's or Master's degree in School Psychology, active School Psychologist license and minimum 1+ years School Psychologist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Located in Birmingham, AL, this contract position offers an opportunity to provide crucial psychological services within a K-12 school setting. The role involves supporting students through in-depth assessments, counseling, and collaboration with educators and families to promote educational success despite various challenges. Key Responsibilities: Conduct psychological evaluations for students referred by teachers and administrators. Review educational, social, and medical histories; interview and observe students in their school environment. Prepare comprehensive reports to be included in official student records. Participate in legal evaluation requests, providing timely and accurate written documentation. Support the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) as part of a multidisciplinary team. Administer and score psychological and neuropsychological tests adhering to standardized procedures. Ensure test validity, monitor timing, and promptly report any challenges in completing evaluations. Aid school personnel with assessments and data collection pertinent to eligibility and IEP team decisions. Assist with psychometric research activities following established protocols. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Credentials and experience as a School Psychologist or Psychometrist. Proficiency in administering and interpreting psychological tests and evaluations. Strong interpersonal skills to interview students, collaborate with staff, and communicate with families. Ability to compile detailed, clear, and legally sound reports. Familiarity with K-12 educational environments and IEP processes. Attention to detail in timing and data management during testing procedures. Employment Details: Contract duration aligned with the current school year (CSY). Approximately 30 hours per week. Location: Birmingham, AL, within a K-12 school setting.
