Responsibilities Assist in determining the suitability of donors.
Establish rapport with donors to ensure overall customer satisfaction while maintaining donor confidentiality.
Respond to and assist with handling donor reactions.
Monitor donor and equipment to ensure the health of donors and the quality of the product.
Set up, disconnect, and operate the automated plasmapheresis machines.
Disconnect and dispose of all contaminated disposable equipment.
Occupational Demands Work is performed in a plasma center with exposure to biological fluids, electrical and laboratory equipment, and extreme cold below 32°F while working in a plasma freezer. Personal protective equipment is required (protective eyewear, garments, gloves, and cold gear). The job involves standing for 6 to 8 hours per day, frequent hand and foot movements, light lifting (up to 15 lbs) with occasional lifts up to 50 lbs, and the use of hearing, color perception, and vision as required. Precise coordinated movements and the ability to listen, understand, and follow written and spoken instructions are essential.
