Located in Norfolk, VA, this full-time contract position offers an opportunity to work as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) supporting an elementary student at a public elementary school. The assignment requires immediate availability and extends through June 16, 2026. Responsibilities include: Providing one-on-one behavioral support to an elementary student with aggressive behaviors. Assisting the special education teacher in implementing the students Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) and behavior supports. Collecting and recording data on the student's behavior and academics to monitor progress. Escorting the student during transitions to and from unstructured settings such as classes and common areas. Collaborating closely with teaching staff and potentially receiving BCBA supervision as provided by the district. Qualifications and skills: Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) licensure is required. Experience working with elementary-aged children, especially within special education settings, is preferred. Ability to manage challenging behaviors, maintain data accuracy, and support individualized student needs. Strong communication skills for collaborating effectively with teachers and support staff. Location: Virginia Beach area, Virginia. Benefits and work environment: Full-time schedule, approximately 37 hours per week. Hands-on experience in a structured educational environment.
