About the role We are looking for a detail‑oriented and experienced
Senior Staff Accountant
to be a core contributor to our daily accounting operations and month‑end close cycle. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for executing key accounting functions, maintaining financial records, and identifying opportunities for process improvements. This is a hands‑on role requiring proficiency with multiple systems and a high degree of precision.
What you’ll do
Month‑End Close:
Execute month‑end close procedures, including preparing and posting journal entries (accruals, amortization, recurring revenue, adjusting entries, and more), and ensuring all deadlines are met.
Reconciliations & Analysis:
Perform and review detailed
reconciliations of complex balance sheet accounts
(e.g., bank reconciliations, accrued expenses, prepaid assets, deferred revenue), investigating and resolving any variances.
Revenue Support:
Assist the Controller with the application of the company's
revenue recognition
policy, supporting analysis, and preparing related schedules.
Operational Accounting:
Manage and troubleshoot issues within the
purchase‑to‑pay (P2P)
cycle and employee expense management, utilizing systems like
Ramp
or
Concur .
Sales Taxes:
Ensure compliance with various bodies on sales tax/GST collections, exemptions, payments, and timely filings.
System Utilization:
Operate proficiently across various financial systems including
Netsuite, SAP, Rippling, Concur,
and
Ramp
to execute daily tasks and extract data.
FP&A/Reporting Assistance:
Support the finance team by compiling data and reports needed for the
forecasting/budgeting
process and generating
quote-to‑cash reporting
metrics.
Audit & Compliance:
Prepare audit‑ready documentation and support internal control testing.
Process Improvement:
Identify and recommend improvements to existing accounting processes for efficiency, accuracy, and scalability, with a strong
attention to detail.
Strong Candidates Will Exhibit the Following Key Traits
2+ years of progressive experience
in accounting or finance.
Big 4 Accounting Experience preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Solid understanding of US GAAP and core accounting principles.
Hands‑on experience with a major ERP system, preferably
Netsuite
or
Quickbooks .
Experience with a range of finance tools such as
Rippling, Concur, or Ramp
is highly desirable.
Demonstrated ability to perform detailed
balance sheet reconciliations
and analysis.
Strong organizational skills and exceptional
attention to detail.
Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
