Quality Assurance Specialist

Position Summary: The
Quality Assurance Specialist
supports agency-wide compliance and quality initiatives by monitoring programs, assisting with audits and surveys, and working collaboratively with leadership to ensure regulatory standards and high-quality care are maintained across all programs.
Essential Responsibilities:
Provide guidance and feedback to administrators and program staff related to compliance and quality improvement
Maintain a working knowledge of applicable regulations, including NYS OPWDD and other governing authorities
Participate in required regulatory and certification-related trainings
Provide technical assistance and support to OPWDD-certified programs as needed
Conduct compliance reviews, audits, and internal surveys across agency programs
Perform technical assistance visits, including documentation reviews and physical inspections
Identify compliance risks and recommend corrective and preventative actions
Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring corrective action plans with program leadership
Prepare clear written reports outlining findings, corrective actions, and follow-up requirements
Assist with internal and regulatory investigations in accordance with OPWDD and NYS Justice Center requirements
Support key quality assurance initiatives across the organization
Additional Duties:
Serve as a member of agency-wide committees
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Prior experience in human services, quality assurance, compliance, or a related field preferred but not required
Training will be provided
