Corporate Counsel

Princeton Legal Search Group has been retained on an exclusive basis by Allegiance Retail Services LLC (Allegiance) to lead the search for an experienced lawyer for the position of Corporate Counsel. Allegiance is a retail services cooperative that serves independent member grocers operating in NJ, NY, PA and RI.This is a hybrid position that will require 3 – 4 days a week in office in Iselin, New Jersey. Reporting to the President and Chief Operating Officer, theCorporate Counsel will serve as the sole trusted legal advisor across the organization, providing hands-on legal support and business counseling. Key Responsibilities Independently and proactively provide counsel in the areas of corporate law, commercial and contract law, insurance law, trademark/service mark law, employment law, and tax law. Advise business partners on legal risks and strategies that support the cooperative as a closed loop business. Structure, draft, negotiate, and execute high-value agreements critical to Allegiance’s operations. Qualifications Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school, with a strong academic background preferred. Admitted to practice law in New Jersey or the ability to register as in-house counsel with the State of New Jersey if not admitted to the NJ Bar. Minimum of 8 years of legal experience Demonstrated ability to provide pragmatic, solutions-oriented legal advice. Excellent business judgment, communication, and collaboration skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Compensation Base salary of $200-$250K, bonus eligible and a comprehensive benefits package. Approximately 30 hrs./week The final salary will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate’s qualifications, training, skills, competencies, and experience.
