Senior Avionics Software Engineer

Responsibilities
Lead the definition of technical requirements and system architectures for avionics and connectivity solutions.
Design, develop, and integrate embedded Linux applications for data communication, data processing, avionics hardware interfaces, and overall system integration using Python.
Implement and maintain secure communication frameworks, including TLS/SSL certificates, certificate authority (CA) chains, HTTPS handshakes, and network protocols such as TCP and UDP.
Ensure compliance with aerospace safety and security standards, including DO-178C and DO-326A / DO-356A.
Integrate software solutions into CI/CD pipelines using Bamboo, and support API development and management.
Plan and execute rigorous testing strategies to validate system performance, security, reliability, and certification readiness.
Collaborate closely with hardware, systems, and cybersecurity teams to deliver robust, mission‑critical avionics solutions.
Provide technical guidance, maintain clear and accurate documentation, and drive continuous improvement across systems engineering processes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM).
7 plus years of experience in embedded systems development, preferably within aerospace or defense environments.
Proven experience designing and implementing secure sandbox environments on embedded Linux platforms.
Hands‑on experience with avionics protocols and standards, including: ARINC 429, ARINC 615A, ARINC 615‑3, GDL90, GDL52
