*The Opportunity:* Whittier Street Health Center is seeking a part-time Ophthalmologist (20 hours per week) to join our multi-specialty vision clinic in Roxbury, MA. This position is ideal for a skilled clinician committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered eye care in a community-based, outpatient setting. You'll work alongside optometrists, technicians, and administrative staff in a supportive, mission-driven environment dedicated to advancing health equity.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Perform comprehensive eye examinations and diagnose ocular diseases and disorders * Conduct ophthalmic surgeries including cataract, glaucoma, corneal, vitreoretinal, and oculoplastic procedures * Prescribe and administer medications, corrective lenses, and ophthalmologic therapies * Perform laser procedures and other treatments for a range of eye conditions * Develop individualized treatment plans and educate patients on preventive eye care * Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide coordinated care and make specialist referrals as needed
*Requirements:*
* Board Certified or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology * Licensed or eligible for medical licensure in Massachusetts * Current BLS certification * Proven clinical experience as an Ophthalmologist * Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and teamwork abilities * Expert knowledge of eye diseases, anatomy, and ophthalmic procedures
