Machine Operator I Location:
West Chicago, IL
(Relocating to Northbrook, IL in March 2026) Job Type:
Full-Time Position Overview: We are looking for a detail-oriented and dependable
Machine Operator I
to join our manufacturing team. This role is based in
West Chicago, IL , with the
facility relocating to Northbrook, IL in March 2026 . All applicants
must be willing to travel as needed and commit to relocating
with the company at that time. As a Machine Operator I, you will operate machines, perform detailed inspections, and contribute to daily production and quality metrics in a clean, safety-first environment. Key Responsibilities: Operate machines to manufacture components in accordance with work instructions and blueprints. Understand and apply quality requirements for machined components. Perform
visual inspections
of components to ensure workmanship and confirm parts are free of contamination. Conduct
dimensional inspections
using appropriate gauges (e.g., calipers, micrometers) and fill out
parts inspection log sheets
accurately. Read and interpret
low-complexity blueprints and component drawings . Learn and apply
machine offsets
to bring off-center components back within specification. Populate
daily production boards
with output, quality, and safety data. Identify
cycle times
for parts and accurately calculate production rates. Use
scales
to weigh and count production pieces as required. Maintain
clean and organized gage tables and work areas , including wiping down machines per HuFriedyGroup guidelines and
mopping floors at the end of each shift . Pull chips
when required or instructed, placing materials in the proper locations. Record and verify
Heat Lot numbers
for traceability. Write clearly and legibly in documentation and inspection records. Follow all company safety procedures and manufacturing standards. Qualifications: 0–2 years of machining or manufacturing experience preferred. Basic understanding of measurement tools and inspection procedures. Strong attention to detail, organization, and cleanliness. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to learn new skills and support a continuous improvement culture. Must be willing and able to relocate to Northbrook, IL in March 2026 . Must be willing to travel as needed .
