Base pay range $200,000.00/yr - $250,000.00/yr Additional compensation types Annual Bonus Direct message the job poster from JCW Group Tax Recruiter at JCW | Asset Management & Financial Services Title: Tax Director Location: New York, NY (Hybrid) Employment Type: Full-time About the Firm: We are a partnered with a leading private equity firm based in New York City, with a strong portfolio of investments and a collaborative, high-performance culture, they are seeking a seasoned Tax Director to lead their in-house tax function. The Tax Director will be responsible for managing all aspects of tax compliance, reporting, and planning for the firm’s management company and investment vehicles. This role offers the opportunity to be a strategic advisor to the finance and investment teams while ensuring tax efficiency and compliance across all entities. Key Responsibilities: Oversee tax compliance for the firm’s domestic and international partnerships, funds, and management company. Manage relationships with external tax advisors and coordinate the preparation and review of partnership tax returns (K-1s, 1065s, etc.). Lead quarterly and annual tax provision process in accordance with ASC 740. Provide tax guidance on new fund launches, M&A activity, and investment structures. Monitor and evaluate tax law changes and assess their impact on the firm’s operations and investment strategies. Partner with legal, finance, and operations to ensure proper tax reporting and risk management. Handle investor tax inquiries and assist with investor reporting as needed. Qualifications: 8+ years of progressive tax experience within the asset management industry (private equity, hedge funds, or similar). Strong technical knowledge of partnership taxation, fund structures, and management company issues. CPA and/or Master’s in Taxation preferred. Big Four and/or in-house experience at an investment firm is strongly preferred. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment. Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
