ERS ETL/Data Warehouse Developer ITSAC Contract / Net 45 Payment Terms Client: State of TX/Employees Retirement System (ERS) Location: ERS is hybrid work from Home and Office. ERS is currently under a hybrid model, which involves at least 2 days in the office Term of Service: 6 monthshours Work Hours and Location: M-F 8:00 - 5:00 PM, 200 E. 18th St, Austin, Texas 78701 Terms and Conditions:

• Vendor will conduct a criminal history check on candidate recommended for the position.
• ERS is currently under a hybrid model, which involves at least 2 days in the office, and the other days working from home (Days to be in office to be negotiated with your manager). Full remote exceptions will be considered for candidates with demonstrated ability to deliver. If remote is determined by ERS to not be delivering successfully, hybrid on premise will be expected.

ETL/Data Warehouse Developer 6 months Contract with possibility to extension Austin, TXHybrid - Onsite 2 days per week) Performs highly advanced (senior-level) ETL/data warehouse development work as part of a small, but vital data management team. Diverse responsibilities include data modeling, ETL, data quality, development of data sources, performance testing, and maintenance responsibilities around existing data warehouse. Will serve as a role model for less experienced developers. Works under limited supervision of the Data Management and Support team lead with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs advanced ETL/data warehouse architectural work including data warehouse design, data modeling, and metadata design
• Works closely with business SMEs to reverse engineer the rules that govern business processes, corresponding data streams, and associated source systems
• Translates business needs into high level technical designs for business intelligence solutions; applies rapid iterative development methodologies as appropriate to ensure the solution keeps pace with business needs
• Perform in-depth, thorough, and accurate reporting or ad hoc analysis as needed
• Contributes to the long-term vision of the ETL/enterprise data warehouse (EDW) by delivering Agile solutions
• Develops efficient ETL for loading the data warehouse and makes timely data available for business users
• Assists in capturing processes, procedures and other metadata in documentation; ensures that documentation is well organized, complete, and appropriate for the audience
• Troubleshoots, supports and maintains the data warehouse and associated tools used by the team
• Contributes to and follows best practices established by the governance council, data stewards and enterprise data officer
• Develops and improves continuous release and testing processes
• Designs, deploys, and manages standardized, centralized data sources for agency reporting
• Helps to establish best practices for development, testing, migration and error handling
• Implements and maintains business intelligence security best practices including those related to HIPAA
• Participates in the training of junior developers
• Performs other duties as assigned

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

• May interact with outside vendors providing data
• May evaluate and recommend action on testing and certification of software and hardware upgrades
• May assist in evaluation of third party service providers

Education/Qualification Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, statistics, economics, finance, library science, or related business field. Experience and Training:

• Three (3) years of hands on experience in data warehouse development
• Three (3) years of hands on experience in ETL development (creating automated processes and troubleshooting issues)
• Three (3) years of hands on experience moving and manipulating large data sets
• Two (2) years of hands on experience dimensional modeling for data warehouses

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in health/life insurance, accounting and financials, or investment data related activities
• Experience with data tools (i.e. Alteryx, Visual Studio, SSIS, MSSQL )
• Experience with Azure and agile iterations
• Experience with ERP applications (i.e. PeopleSoft, Safyr, etc.)
• Knowledge of health care claims data

• Knowledge of business intelligence security best practices including those related to HIPAA.
• Knowledge of dimensional modeling using star schemas with multiple fact tables
• Knowledge of RDBMS architecture and troubleshooting is desirable.
• Knowledge of Kimball dimensional models
• Knowledge of health care claims data
• Knowledge of data mining tools and methods
• Knowledge of analytic programming tools and methods (SQL, OLAP, Tableau)
• Knowledge or exposure to the R programming language
