Junior Recruiter Manufacturing (High-Volume Hourly Hiring)
The Junior Recruiter supports the full-cycle recruitment process for hourly manufacturing positions, including production operators, material handlers, technicians, and support roles. This role is responsible for sourcing, screening, and coordinating candidates in a fast-paced, high-volume environment to ensure the plant maintains adequate staffing levels to meet production demands.
Key Responsibilities
1. High-Volume Candidate Sourcing
- Post job openings on job boards, company websites, and social media.
- Conduct proactive sourcing through job fairs, community organizations, online platforms, and referral programs.
- Maintain a pipeline of qualified hourly candidates for multiple shifts.
2. Screening & Interview Coordination
- Review applications and conduct phone screens to assess experience, availability, and job fit.
- Schedule interviews with hiring managers and supervisors across various shifts.
- Facilitate group interviews, walk-in hiring events, and open-house recruiting days.
- Administer pre-employment assessments, skills tests, or plant-tour evaluations.
3. Hiring Process Support
- Coordinate background checks, drug screens, work authorization, and other pre-employment requirements.
- Prepare offer letters and communicate hiring decisions to candidates.
- Maintain accurate candidate records in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
- Support new-hire onboarding, including orientation preparation and paperwork completion.
4. Partnership With Hiring Managers
- Work closely with production supervisors, HR, and plant leadership to understand staffing needs and job requirements.
- Provide weekly updates on candidate pipelines, hiring progress, and bottlenecks.
- Assist in revising job descriptions and job postings as needed.
5. Administrative & Compliance Functions
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations (EEO, I-9, FLSA, etc.).
- Track recruiting metrics such as time-to-fill, open requisition status, and new-hire sources.
- Maintain organized hiring files and documentation for audits.
6. Candidate Experience & Employer Branding
- Provide timely communication and follow-up to candidates.
- Represent the company professionally during job fairs, community events, and plant tours.
- Promote a positive employer brand and help manage recruiting social media content.
Qualifications Required
12 years of experience in recruiting, HR, staffing, or related administrative or customer service role. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to manage high-volume workloads in a fast-paced environment. Basic proficiency with MS Office and applicant tracking systems (ATS). Willingness to work flexible hours during peak hiring periods.
Preferred
Experience recruiting in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Knowledge of labor markets and hourly hiring strategies. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus. Experience conducting job fairs or community outreach.
