Strategic Planner for Facilities (Administrative Officer 2)

If the answer is yes, The Department of General Services (DGS), Bureau of Facilities Management is eager to welcome you as a Strategic Planner for Facilities (Administrative Officer 2). This position plays a crucial role in managing administrative tasks, facilitating communication, and assisting the Bureau Director in decision‑making processes. Description of Work This position works in collaboration with the Bureau Director to strategically plan for the Bureau’s success and future growth, including succession planning. You will serve as the human resource (HR) lead for the bureau, coordinating all hiring, onboarding, and training, and will assist with drafting, updating, managing contracts for the Bureau of Facility Management, and purchasing unique services and equipment used to maintain DGS‑owned and managed buildings.
Work Schedule and Additional Information
Full‑time employment
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday–Friday, with a 60‑minute lunch break
Telework: optional part‑time (2–3 days per week) from an approved location in Pennsylvania; subject to change
Starting salary may be non‑negotiable in some cases

Qualifications
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as an Administrative Officer 1 (Commonwealth or equivalent Federal title), or
Three years of progressively responsible office management or staff work, including personnel management, budgeting, or procurement, and a bachelor’s degree, or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training
Additional Requirements: Strategic planning experience in an IT background
Experience multitasking and handling competing high priorities
Professionalism and strong interpersonal skills
Ability to perform essential job functions
Preferred Qualifications (not required): Scrum/lean experience
