Clinical Account Specialist Dermatology – Columbia, SC
Join the UCB field‑based team to strengthen our Dermatology Sales initiatives. The Clinical Account Specialist (CAS) drives demand for our current and future dermatology pipeline assets in an assigned territory, building relationships with clinical decision makers and office staff while ensuring patients access needed therapies.
About the role
Develop a strong understanding of the patient journey of care, ensuring therapies reach patients.
Offer an outstanding patient experience by communicating clinical information on dermatology products and relevant patient support services.
Establish an understanding of the local health care ecosystem, including the payor environment.
Demonstrate UCB Patient Value Strategy principles by building collaborative, team‑oriented relationships and integrating within a matrix environment.
Behave compliantly with all UCB policies, approved messages and coach the team to use approved UCB sales materials and messages with HCPs and other stakeholders.
What you’ll do
Own territory sales goals and objectives through effective planning and visiting clinical decision makers with appropriate reach/frequency.
Analyze territory data to build and adapt a customer call plan, establishing professional working relationships with HCPs and support staff.
Maintain a thorough understanding of the competitive marketplace and drivers of prescriber decisions.
Conduct account related activities such as profiling, call planning, and reviewing UCB sales data with assigned stakeholders.
Make strategic business decisions in managing resources such as financial budgets, samples, and access opportunities.
Coordinate and support promotional educational opportunities (e.g., peer‑to‑peer educational events) in accordance with UCB policy.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS).
Minimum of 3 years of direct selling experience to healthcare professionals in the pharmaceutical, biotech, device or healthcare industry.
Valid Driver License with no more than 2 moving violations in the past three years.
Must reside within the assigned geography.
Preferred Qualifications
5 years of direct selling experience to healthcare professionals in the pharmaceutical, biotech, device or healthcare industry.
Experience calling on dermatologists in the assigned geography.
Experience selling injectable biologic products.
Proven track record of success in pharmaceutical sales demonstrated by goal attainment and awards (e.g., President’s Club).
Biologic product launch experience.
Demonstrated business and strategic planning skills to identify unique selling opportunities and adapt to changing market conditions.
Understanding of managed care landscape and its influence on business.
Strong verbal, influencing, presentation and written communication skills.
Strong collaboration skills and success working in teams.
This position’s reasonably anticipated base salary range is $128,000 to $168,000 per year. The actual salary offered will consider internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, knowledge, skills, and experience.
