HR Generalist - Full Time - First Shift

What Will You Do? As a Human Resource Generalist you will perform a broad range of HR‑related duties at a professional level and work collaboratively with the HR Manager, HR Director, and other members of the Human Resources team. Primary areas of responsibility include employee relations and compliance, with backup support in credentialing, workers’ compensation, FMLA, recruitment, onboarding, benefits, and compensation.
Maintain a general HR knowledge base to effectively respond to HR, employment, policy, and procedure issues/questions.
Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping all information confidential.
Represent HR in routine employee relations issues; facilitate corrective actions for attendance, tardiness, training, etc.
Act as a second representative on elevated, complex employee fact‑finding items such as sexual harassment.
Ensure consistent application of disciplinary process and participate in proceedings.
Identify, prioritize, and respond to requests using approved HR tools and techniques within established timelines.
Advise management on appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
Participate in the delivery of leadership training for newly appointed managers.
Represent the organization for divisional and departmental licensing/accreditation bodies and lead audit preparation.
Conduct audits of new employee files to ensure compliance and follow up on deficiencies.
Oversee development and revision of job descriptions to reflect evolving roles and regulatory requirements.
Review, update, and maintain organizational policies and procedures for accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
Compile, analyze, and report information to support operational and compliance needs.
Assist the Employee Health & Disability Administrator with flu and TB compliance, tracking, and reporting.
Assist with credentialing tasks and offer support during recredentialing.
Provide backup coverage to the Work Comp & FMLA areas during vacation vacancy when needed.
Support the TA team during high staffing needs: interviewing, sourcing, cold‑calling, scheduling, and onboarding.
Assist during benefit open enrollment, compliance and reporting, compensation reviews, and data entry.
Provide administrative and operational support: records management, compliance postings, credit card reconciliation, mail distribution, presentation preparation, and meeting logistics.
Manage the calendar for the Vice President of People, provide front‑office coverage, support internal projects, and assist with departmental coordination.
Maintain annual training and demonstrate competency in required training programs.
What Does This Role Require?
Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or related field.
Three (3) years of experience in human resources.
Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
High degree of analytical ability, organizational skills, detail orientation, and ability to multi‑task.
Experience working with HRIS software.
