About the Role The HR Generalist is a key member of the Human Resources team at Oakwood Group, supporting a unionized manufacturing facility. This role partners closely with leadership and employees to administer HR programs, ensure labor law and CBA compliance, and drive initiatives that support employee engagement, retention, and organizational success.
What You’ll Do Employee & Labor Relations
Serve as a trusted point of contact for employee concerns, questions, and grievances
Interpret and administer the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA)
Build collaborative relationships with union leadership and management
Support payroll, benefits, and employee record maintenance
Development & Performance
Partner with leaders to identify training and development needs
Support and coordinate training events in the areas of leadership development, compliance, and safetyAssist with performance review processes and analyze results for leadership
Support internship and early‑career development programs
Talent & Engagement
Lead full‑cycle recruiting and onboarding for hourly, technical, and leadership roles
Analyze workforce metrics and share insights with leadership
Support retention, engagement, and employee experience initiatives
Model and promote Oakwood’s values and culture
Compliance & HR Operations
Ensure compliance with employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, NLRA, etc.)
Maintain accurate HR records and conduct audits as needed
Advise managers on disciplinary actions in alignment with policy and the CBA
What You Bring Required
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
5+ years of HR Generalist experience in a manufacturing environment
3+ years supporting a unionized workforce
Strong knowledge of employment law and labor relations
Experience using HRIS systems and Microsoft Office
Preferred
Experience supporting collective bargaining and labor negotiations
Strong analytical skills with experience using HR metrics and KPIs
