Position Overview
Under moderate supervision, this position is responsible for complex accounting activities supporting the accurate and timely closing of the general ledger.
Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities
Prepares and posts journal entries, account reconciliations, fixed asset processing, lease/contract review, accrual entries, and/or budget variance reviews.
Researches and analyzes assigned large elements of revenue and expense and the related internal reporting.
Ensures general ledger account balances are materially correct in compliance with internal controls and GAAP and that internal control risks are tested and documented in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley.
Leads accounting initiatives/projects including process improvement, regulatory compliance/changes, and policy.
Mentors less senior staff.
Complies with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or another related quantitative discipline is required. Related experience may offset degree requirements and related education/degree may offset experience requirements.
Four (4) years experience in accounting for financial reporting in a public accounting firm or in a large for-profit corporate environment.
Excellent analytical and financial analysis skills required.
Strong knowledge of GAAP standards required.
Outstanding knowledge of business software, spreadsheet applications and/or mainframe or web-based applications.
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including presentation skills.

Additional Details This position will be domiciled at a FedEx Freight location in Memphis, TN or Harrison, AR. You will be required to work at a FedEx Freight location several times per week.
