General Purpose:
The accountant is responsible for assisting maintaining, monitoring, and reporting financial and accounting information. Working under the supervision of the Sr Accountant, the accountant will be responsible for preparing and posting journal entries, assisting with month‑end close, reconciling bank and balance sheet accounts, and processing wires and deposits. The accountant will also assist in the processing of accounts payable and miscellaneous payroll duties.
Work Schedule:
40+ hours per week Monday through Friday. 8 hours per week. 8am‑5pm with a 1‑hour lunch.
Responsibilities & Duties
Enter and monitor accounts payable.
Assist with PR duties as needed.
Prepare deposits as needed.
Reconcile bank accounts.
Track and maintain the office supply inventory and order inventory as necessary.
Assist with vehicle licensing and insurance.
Enter and submit credit applications.
Coordinate with Project Managers of job setup and maintenance.
Assist with annual audit preparation.
Monthly sales tax transactions
Required Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or similar field of study.
3 years + of experience or related experience
Required Skills/Licenses/Certifications
Knowledge of database application/computerized accounting and budget systems as relevant to assigned responsibilities.
Knowledge of general office procedures and practices including report writing, English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
Knowledge of computer databases i.e. Microsoft Office Suite.
Skills necessary to perform multiple technical tasks with an occasional need to upgrade skills due to changing conditions.
Skills necessary to interpret data and utilize pertinent software.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all ISC personnel.
Ability to analyze situations and develop appropriate recommendations for action.
Ability to initiate, plan and carry work through to completion.
Ability to work additional hours periodically.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions The overall nature of the position is sedentary in nature requiring little physical effort and occasional light physical exertion. There is occasional exposure to environmental conditions such as heat, cold, temperature changes, industrial noise, and construction hazards usually accompanied by business travel and visits to job sites and clients.
The constant physical demands of the position are talking and hearing.
The frequent physical demands of the position are sitting, standing and walking.
The occasional physical demands of the position are carrying, pushing, pulling, handling, repetitive motions, and eye/hand/foot coordination.
Travel Requirement
This position may have over‑road travel and air travel.
