This position is assigned to the Adams County Detention Facility. This person will perform a variety of criminal justice and corrections duties related to Pretrial Release, Pretrial Supervision, Classifications, Inmate Workers, Work Release, Time Computation, and State Offenders. This is an essential 24/7 position. Employees must be able to work rotating shifts. Hours vary by assignment. Responsibilities

Under general supervision, performs a variety of criminal justice and corrections duties related to Pretrial Release, Pretrial Supervision, Classifications, Inmate Workers, Work Release, Time Computation and State Offenders Contribute to a positive team environment Interview detainees to obtain detailed information, verify alleged offenses, and communicate with agencies, officials, family, friends, and employers of detainees Utilize law enforcement databases and prepare related documents, including establishing and maintaining files Serve as an officer of the court in hearings and testify in court Manage and coordinate housing assignments and inmate labor jobs according to risk for inmates confined to the Detention Facility Supervise defendants charged with felonies, misdemeanors, traffic, or petty offenses placed in a Court Services program while in custody and when released pending court deposition Monitor and report the compliance or non‑compliance of defendants during field site checks and substance abuse testing via urinalysis Maintain extensive contact with judicial and law enforcement officials, public defenders, private attorneys, parole officers, the general public, defendants under supervision, and incarcerated individuals Perform general clerical tasks and extensive computer entry into local and state systems Compute release dates Track county, community, and state inmates Collect genetic testing bucal swab samples as mandated by state statute Report to the Court Services Supervisor Interview newly arrested inmates for Pre‑trial Release, Supervised Release, Classifications, Inmate Worker and Work Release consideration Review, verify, and approve client/inmate participation in work release and inmate worker programs and housing assignments Develop and maintain work rosters Maintain accurate records of current population and inmate status Write disciplinary records of current population and inmate status Prepare, serve, and complete disciplinary sanctions and tracking logs Interview incoming inmates and verify personal information for bond purposes Provide background information, criminal history, and recommendations to the court, district attorney, and defense attorney concerning bond Prepare general correspondence Record and evaluate clients/inmates progress on court‑approved programs, preparing compliance and non‑compliance reports Compute and verify accurate release dates for inmate sentences from court mittimus Input charges and sentence information into computer database Record and prepare daily statistics for Department of Corrections backlog, parole violators, community placement, and community corrections related to inmate status Prepare general correspondence for judicial and law enforcement review regarding inmate status Place detainers with other facilities via teletype and fax Verbally communicate information to agencies, including judicial and law enforcement officials, inmates, defendants, clients, and the general public Research and track the location of Adams County sentenced inmates in other facilities or programs Conduct bucal swab genetic testing from inmates in accordance with state law, collecting, sealing, and sending samples to Colorado Bureau of Investigations for testing Complete electronic mittimus acceptance and transport orders on Department of Corrections inmates Maintain certification for CCIC/NCIC computer system to obtain criminal history and warrant information on inmates Arrange for interpreters through the justice system Conduct bond modification interviews at the request of courts and attorneys Schedule and conduct office visits with clients on programs Conduct field site checks on inmates/clients Provide victim notification when clients/inmates are placed on certain programs Qualifications For Success

Equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree or vocational technical training with major coursework in criminal justice, criminology, corrections, social services, or related field, or Two years of experience in a directly related field or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities Knowledge of criminal justice and corrections duties related to Pretrial Services, Classifications, and offender sentencing Familiarity with the operation of a personal computer and common software applications to perform word processing, database, and spreadsheet projects Ability to obtain and maintain Level J certification in the NCIC/CCIC computer system Type 30 words per minute accurately Effective oral and written communication skills Knowledge of federal and state laws and statutes applicable to corrections, criminal justice, and law enforcement Efficient multitasking, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in time‑management Experience in interviewing techniques, procedures, and ability to verify information received Comfortable with one‑on‑one contact with inmates during interviews, case management duties, and collecting genetic testing samples Adams County and the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office complies with Colorado’s Job Application Fairness Act (“JAFA”).
