If so, you could start off your career supporting the admin team within the Diabetes & Endocrinology department, working whilst studying for an apprenticeship. This exciting post will allow the successful candidate to gain experience and knowledge in a wide range of activities. You will assist with typing, booking patient appointments, and administration tasks which will include dealing with telephone enquiries, filing and general office duties, in order to ensure our clinics, run smoothly, Your time will be split between our admin teams in Diabetes, Endocrinology, and the Clinical Investigation Unit. Main duties of the job
Provide high quality secretarial support to the department. Split your time between several areas within the department, getting to know and working with different staff groups. Have excellent communication skills and will need confidence when dealing with service users over the telephone and face-to-face. Handle patient information on a daily basis, so you will be expected to have a high level of accuracy and confidentiality. Need good data entry and IT skills. Be able to prioritise your workload and work on the departmental database systems. Undertake a Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard within a 14-month contract. Being a good team player is a must, and you will uphold the Trust's PRIDE values. Interviews to be arranged for 22nd January 2026. About us

Eligibility Criteria All applicants must be: Aged 16+ Resident in the UK/EEA for the last three consecutive years Must not have a qualification in a similar subject at the same level or above Must not be in any form of formal government-funded education upon the start of their apprenticeshipQualifications and Skills Required: Good general standard of education 4 GCSEs at Grade D/3 or above (or equivalent) Good standard of literacy and numeracy Good communication and interpersonal skills Good IT skills Overview of Essential Responsibilities: To provide efficient and effective admin support to the office To type letters using standard templates To record patient demographics and referrals on the hospital information system (PAS) and departments computer system To update as necessary PAS and departments computer system To request and return medical notes To carry out filing of letters To carry out photocopying To order stationary/equipment for the department To prepare patient information packs and resources for ward staff Please see the attached job description for full details.
