Position Summary The role of the Site Administrator Technician is a dual role requiring both administrative and technical knowledge to complete day‑to‑day work activities in a correctional facility. The incumbent must have strong data entry skills, technical knowledge, customer‑service experience, and be the first point of contact for facility personnel for all administrative and technical tasks associated with inmate call‑control systems.
Key Responsibilities
Troubleshoot, correct, and service inmate technology systems, including basic telephone repair and maintenance.
Perform hardware troubleshooting, define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Proficient with telephony and networking (copper, CAT 5/6, fiber optic wiring; wiring color code and data cabling fabrication).
Conduct wiring troubleshooting: trace, repair or replace damaged wiring, and effect repairs on 66‑blocks or cutoff switches.
Maintain, repair, and operate onsite telecommunications and networking hardware/software, access points, and various electronic equipment at assigned correctional facilities.
Meet all service requirements set by the customer contract.
Build and maintain relationships with facility personnel, customers, vendors, and contractors to resolve onsite technical problems.
Demonstrate strong time‑management and control service‑related expenses.
Deliver service resolution promptly to ensure optimal system performance, resulting in highly satisfied customers.
Provide onsite instruction and training for site personnel as needed.
Maintain stringent security guidelines in jail and prison environments at all times.
Return damaged or inoperable equipment following the Return Merchandise Authorization process.
Troubleshoot tablet functionality, applications, and Wi‑Fi connectivity where applicable.
Safely drive a company or personal vehicle to numerous facilities across the assigned state.
Willingly travel to customer sites daily and for overnight trips.
Work scheduled and/or unscheduled overtime, after‑hours callouts as required.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in telecommunications (installation, repair, troubleshooting of telephones, video visitation systems, TTY or VRS units, Wi‑Fi/Access Points).
2+ years of experience with computer/network installation and repair; knowledge of VLAN, advanced network configurations, telecom, and VOIP is a plus.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
High school diploma or GED; some college coursework preferred.
Exceptional customer‑service skills.
Proficient in Windows OS, MS Office, and related software.
Ability to frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
Valid driver’s license.
Daily travel throughout the assigned geographic area; overnight travel possible.
Consistent pass of criminal background screens.
