Provides work direction and guidance to Security Department staff. Enforces security procedures and regulations. Responds to incidents and resolves problems, or requests assistance of local authorities to protect the safety and well-being of all persons and property at the assigned location. Performs security functions, relying on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals with a wide degree of creativity and latitude.

In the role of Security Manager, you will have the opportunity to:
Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ
Train Security Officers to advance and eliminate threats to staff on campus. Security Officers must be capable of employing lethal weapons and procedures.
Balances the critical security function with the need to maintain a welcoming and friendly environment on campus for all staff and visitors.
Proactively identifies threats to staff and facilities, and acts to deter their impact.
Maintain compliance with North Carolina regulatory agencies and certification as a security officer capable of employing lethal force.
Supervise all activities of Security Officers on the assigned campus.
Develop relationships and coordinate with local law enforcement agencies in order to reinforce internal deterrence and response capabilities.
Provide or oversee major event security (concerts, conferences, etc.) at the Training Center and supplementary security at the Boone OCC Processing Center during Processing Season.
Support the day-to-day oversight and scheduling of Samaritans Purse Security staff and contracted security officers to ensure 24/7 security coverage and property protection programs.
Perform security functions, including, but not limited to, the following: Screen pedestrian and vehicular traffic for authorization to enter the premises.
Operate various equipment, including but not limited to card access, fire and burglar alarm, video cameras, and ministry vehicles.
Monitor activity across the campus through physical patrols and the use of video surveillance equipment.
Control access to the campus according to Samaritan's Purse policy.
Stay abreast of all Samaritan's Purse facilities, policies, procedures, and regulations that affect the safety and security of Samaritans Purse building occupants.
Follows policies and procedures of Samaritans Purse as set forth in the Policy Manual
Basic Law Enforcement Training and a minimum of five (5) years experience as a Law Enforcement Officer; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 5 years of leadership or management experience in law enforcement and/or the military preferred. Basic keyboarding and computer skills required.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required); if not already completed, an opportunity to meet and complete the requirement is available upon hire.
