Education Fundamental knowledge in financial planning, client service, and licensing is essential. Our curriculum supports your first three years in the business, providing industry expert instruction, client acquisition strategies, and access to our national network of tenured advisors.
Responsibilities
Grow your client base by making new connections, maintaining a strong referral network, and delivering a great client experience.
Build personalized, holistic financial plans tailored to each client’s unique needs.
Manage client financial plans to help them achieve their goals.
Grow relationships with clients to support them through every stage of life.
Training, Licensing & Designations To become a financial advisor, you must obtain Life/Accident & Health certifications, Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 6, 7, and 63. Northwestern Mutual provides pre‑payment/reimbursement for course tuition and required books.
Compensation & Benefits
Performance‑based earnings within a range of $61,000–$250,000 per year (average first–three‑year earners and top‑25% earners given).
Additional income structure to support early development, renewal income, bonus programs, and expense allowances.
Support for insurance licensing, SIE, Series 6, Series 7, Series 63, and more.
Certified Financial Planner® licensing support.
Fully company‑funded retirement package and pension plan.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
