About The Role
As a Qualitative Analyst, you will be supporting the growth, engagement, and commercial success of SportyBet in South Africa by deeply understanding customer needs, motivations, and pain points. This role is responsible for leading qualitative research activities, such as customer interviews, surveys, and usability testing, and translating insights into clear, actionable recommendations for the Product Manager. You will be the voice of the customer, ensuring product decisions and roadmap priorities are grounded in real user insight within a regulated, fast‑moving market. What You’ll Be Doing
Conducting regular qualitative research with customers, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing Designing and running structured research plans to explore user needs across acquisition, onboarding, betting, payments, and retention Synthesizing qualitative findings into clear themes, insights, and opportunities for product improvement Validating product hypotheses and concepts through customer feedback and early testing Maintaining a deep understanding of South African user behaviour, sports culture, language, and local context Collaborating with data, design, and customer support teams to triangulate qualitative and quantitative insights Sharing insights through clear readouts, reports, and presentations that influence decision‑making Ensuring all research activities comply with local regulations and internal policies What You’ll Bring
Based in South Africa Strong English communication skills Proven experience in qualitative research, user research, or similar roles Experience conducting customer interviews, surveys, and usability testing for digital products Strong ability to synthesize complex feedback into actionable insights Comfortable working closely with Product Managers, designers, and cross‑functional teams Experience in sportsbook, gaming, fintech, or consumer digital products is a plus Strong communication and storytelling skills Organised, empathetic, and detail‑oriented Passion for understanding users and improving product experiences Even Better If
