Level II Technician, Splicing

The Level II Technician – Splicing will perform mid‑level splicing on a variety of underground, aerial, and ISP projects nationwide, ensuring quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Performs mid-level splicing functions for aerial, underground, and ISP cable routing on various projects.
Advanced ability to read and interpret construction prints, drawings, and splice matrixes to ensure customer requirements are fulfilled.
Determines equipment needs, cable route, cable direction, safety best practices, and performs splicing functions within a live customer facility.
Independently and safely performs mid-sheath cable entry using proper tools.
Performs mid-level single and/or ribbon splices with understanding of large cable count numbering.
Reads and processes test results and troubleshoots basic issues identified during testing.
Proficient in mid-level OTDR and power meter testing.
Installs and/or researches installation procedures for all splice enclosures.
Performs basic cable relocations and hot cuts while maintaining cable organization.
Communicates effectively with internal training peers and external stakeholders, addressing issues and offering customer‑centric solutions.
Responds in a timely manner to critical situations and emergency outages with the appropriate level of urgency.
Adheres to all safety requirements and standards while working in a safety‑sensitive position.
Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.

When working on site, required to wear common protective safety equipment such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, and steel‑toed boots.
Experience and Education
1‑5 years of experience performing fiber‑optic cable splicing projects.
OSHA 10 certification (or ability to acquire within 6 months) required.
First‑aid and/or CPR certifications preferred.
Valid driver’s license with ability to obtain a DOT medical card required.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
