Overview
Systems Engineer role at SAIC (Fort Dix, NJ). Full‑time day shift with remote work option available. Minimum clearance: Interim Secret; candidate must be able to obtain Secret. Position posted on 2026‑01‑09.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate technical activities to translate stakeholder needs into effective, lifecycle‑optimized systems. Manage internal and external system interfaces for compatibility and performance. Conduct system architecture design, component selection, and integration planning to meet all requirements. Provide expert technical guidance to multidisciplinary teams (systems, hardware, software, test, cybersecurity, safety). Support and execute technical reviews and major milestones (SRRs, PDRs, Milestone A, etc.) ensuring technical rigor and compliance with all criteria. Assist with development of technical guidance, instructions, and program documentation (white papers, decision memos, technical assessments). Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, logistics, manufacturing, and program leadership to solve complex problems. Participate in risk management, configuration management, trade‑off analysis, technical reviews, and modeling & simulation. Oversee integration, testing, and evaluation of systems and subsystems, including performance testing and validation analysis. Interface with stakeholders across program offices, fleet users, contractors, and industry; translate complex technical information for senior leadership. Prepare and review required documentation (technical proposals, engineering reports, drawings, white papers, status briefings).
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical/Computer, Systems, or Industrial Engineering preferred). Minimum 5 years of Systems Engineering experience, preferably in DoD or NAVAIR environments. Experience with DoD 5000 Acquisition Lifecycle processes. Strong analytical, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross‑functional teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerBI). Experience in one of: Foreign Military Sales (FMS), Engineering Change Proposals, or Ship Integration.
Desired Qualifications
Experience with JIRA application. Experience with process and review Requests for Engineering Investigation (REIs).
Target Salary Range
$80,001 - $120,000
