The
Control Systems Project Engineer
works on a wide range of control system projects and assumes full responsibility for assigned projects or complex project tasks. This role leads project execution end-to-end, provides advanced engineering support to projects led by others, and serves as a technical and execution leader while working under the direction of assigned project leads, supervisors, and company leadership. This is an onsite position that can work out of any of the above locations. What You Will Do Senior Engineering Leadership & Technical Execution
Lead and execute complex control system projects and large-scale project tasks in their entirety Demonstrate complete self-sufficiency in the field Lead and assist with system startup and commissioning activities Lead and perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) Apply advanced knowledge of Human-Machine Interface (HMI) and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) applications Interpret P&IDs and wiring diagrams and provide feedback on discrepancies between drawings and field conditions Demonstrate a deep understanding of the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) Advanced Design, Standards & Technical Review
Perform and review complex control system designs Develop instrumentation specifications for complex control systems Review standard documents generated by others for technical accuracy, grammar, and presentation quality Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Information Technology (IT) systems, network infrastructure, and computer system design as related to control system integration Assume ultimate responsibility for assigned projects and tasks Complete assigned work accurately, on schedule, and within budget Lead individual project tasks and/or small to mid-sized projects in their entirety Serve as the primary customer contact for projects they lead Understand project scope, contracts, and specifications Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks Anticipate potential project issues and proactively develop solutions Deliver detailed, actionable feedback on project and task performance Identify opportunities for additional work with customers and contractors Customer Engagement & Professional Conduct
Communicate in an effective, positive, and proactive manner with customers and trade partners Follow customer-specific site standards and procedures Conduct all business professionally Provide high-quality, responsive customer support Demonstrate a strong understanding of customer needs and actively seek to meet them Follow up consistently and honor customer commitments Where applicable, direct and oversee junior or subordinate staff during construction, operations, and maintenance activities Provide guidance and leadership to project team members on-site Education & Experience
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline combined with relevant technical experience Typically 4+ years of total industry experience Proven track record of 2+ years as a Lead Control Systems Engineer or equivalent role What You Bring
