Job Description Performance Foodservice is seeking a reliable and customer‑focused Route Delivery Driver for the Foodservice division. The role involves driving a tractor‑trailer or straight truck on local and over‑the‑road routes, delivering and unloading food and related products while maintaining safety and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Position Details
Component pay structure: Average pay $90,000 - $100,000
Regional routes (1‑3 day layover)
Schedule: 4‑5 days per week; start between 11 PM – 3 AM
Sign‑On Bonus: $10,000, Terms Apply – prior PFG employment within last 6 months disqualifies

Position Purpose Food and food‑service delivery drivers play a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. Drivers ensure products arrive at their destination on time and in good condition, and they serve as the face of the company, building lasting relationships with customers.
Primary Responsibilities
Communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and co‑workers professionally, answering questions accurately and promptly.
Act as a team member within the department and organization, performing any duty assigned to best serve the company.
Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip) per DOT regulations and company safety standards.
Report all safety issues and required repairs.
Follow all DOT regulations and company safe‑driving guidelines and policies.
Inspect trailer for proper loading and securing of freight.
Count items and verify customer invoices during loading.
Complete all required paperwork legibly and accurately.
Move tractor to loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed.
Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route schedule.
Unload products from the trailer and transport items into designated customer storage areas.
Perform damage‑control checks, scan items, and contact supervisor regarding removal of orders per company policy.
Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures.
Collect cash or checks where required; load customer returns onto trailer and secure doors.
Ensure that tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and secured.
Unload damaged goods and customer returns, bring to driver check‑in, and complete necessary paperwork.
Unload all equipment, materials, and remove trash from trailers as required.
Record hours of service and enter in log per Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area, and keep trailers clear and clean as required.
At end of shift secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
1 year of commercial driving experience
High school diploma/GED or state‑approved equivalent
Valid CDL A
Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)
Must be 21 years of age
Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
Pass post‑offer drug test and criminal background check
Pass road test
Valid current DOT Health Card and/or ability to secure new DOT Health Card
Ability to hand‑lift and use two‑wheeler, lift gate, and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight (10–35 lbs, up to ~60–90 lbs)
Preferred Qualifications
CDL touch‑freight delivery experience and experience in foodservice delivery
Experience driving CDL in inclement weather (chains)
Customer service related experience
