Job Overview
The Mental Health Therapist screens, assesses, diagnoses, and treats transition‑age youth aged 15 to 25 experiencing their first onset of psychosis or schizophrenia spectrum illness within the first 12 months. The role includes psycho‑education, treatment planning, and consultation with families, care providers, and community partners. Work occurs in community‑based, home‑based, and office‑based settings, and includes community education to reduce stigma and raise awareness about psychosis.
Location Beaverton office, LifeWorks NW
Compensation & Benefits Starting annual salary of $63,473 with full benefits.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct client evaluations including intake interviews, formulate diagnoses, and identify appropriate treatment services.
Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other school personnel to support clients’ identified needs.
Develop therapeutic treatment plans based on clients’ interests, abilities, strengths, and needs.
Provide individual, family, and group therapy utilizing evidence‑based practices such as collaborative problem solving, cognitive behavioral interventions, solution‑focused therapy, wrap‑around principles, and multisystem treatment approaches.
Travel between sites or within the community and transport clients in personal or LifeWorks NW vehicle when required.
Qualifications
Hold a valid active QMHP credential through MHACBO or a valid active status (licensed or registered intern) with an approved Oregon licensing board.
Possess a Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field.
Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive assessments, including identifying precipitating events, gathering histories, assessing family and social relationships, performing mental status examinations, writing DSM diagnoses, creating and supervising Individual Service and Support Plans, and providing therapy within scope of training.
May be required to drive a LifeWorks NW vehicle and provide a safe driving record from the DMV.
